The Petersburg Bakehouse will be a community owned, wholesale enterprise, supplying to cafes, restaurants and pubs in town. It will initially be open initially for two days per week baking fresh bread, bread rolls, sourdough and much more! There will be a qualified Baker and Bakery Manager to train and mentor between 6-8 ‘Work for the Dole’ MADEC participants every six months. These individuals will be learning baking skills, small business and workforce development skills.
The Petersburg Bakehouse will be sourcing ingredients locally, such as flour from Flinders Ranges and other items from our local Foodland and producers. There has been an abundance of support and interest from business owners and locals so watch this space and we will be keeping you updated upon open!
